Saya tak perlu lagi jumpa mereka sehingga tiga bulan,” katanya.

Kata Dr Mahathir beliau masih belum pulih sepenuhnya tetapi berasa semakin lega dan kuat, tanpa masalah pernafasan dan kepenatan.

Ditanya apa yang perlu beliau dilakukan, Dr Mahathir menjawab sambil tersenyum: “Doktor suruh saya makan banyak-banyak. Tapi ada masalah. Saya sukan makan sikit-sikit. Tak ada pantang. Kena makan banyak daging untuk dapat protein. Nasi lemah, roti canai semua boleh makan.

“Saya kena naikkan berat badan kepada berat sebelum pembedahan iaitu 62 kg. Sekarang saya 58 kg.

“Saya kena banyak senaman.

Tapi minta maaflah saya belum bersedia lagi,” katanya.

Alhamdulliah.

Moral compass...if you have a strong moral compass like Tun's...everything will be alright..just do what need to be done...forget about what people might say or interpret..sorry to sound like a fanboy...but Tun is really an inspiring figure...smart and brave...two very rare combinations..

Dato dan para Perayap,

Malaysia tanpa TDM ibarat gulai tak cukup garam. Selamat Kembali Bertugas dan Berjuang.

Terima kasih.

The Scribe,

Takkan cerita pasal berat badan, senaman, dan nasi lemak saja. Not like you and not like him to discuss just these things.

Apapun, saya berharap Tun tak buat apa2 yang terlalu stressful. Orang2 kat PLF jangan bagi dia tension la, ok?

Terimakasih.

It is and would be a very interesting life, don't you think, Kadir?

Power does strange things to people don't it? What has Hamzah Fansuri and Sheikh Nuruddin got to do with it all? Mari kita tengok siapa juara dan siapa jaguh.

My wager: Family Mahathir hancur, but not now. But a pity, I won't be around to see it all. Then again, who cares.

Thank You & Take Care.
Closing Up Shop.(no more notes to trade, Kadir - Alhamdulillah)

I can't imagine living here in Malaysia, without Tun. Or maybe, I simply refuse to believe it. He has been my inspiration, my idol, for as long as I can remember.

Alhamdulillah, now that he's back, I hope he wont stay quiet.

We're all waiting for his 2 cents.

Saudara Rocky's Bru, antara lain, berkata: "Takkan cerita pasal berat badan, senaman, dan nasi lemak saja. Not like you and not like him to discuss just these things."

Betul itu Saudara. Kami bercerita lebih daripada itu. Tetapi biarlah tidak saya hebahkan. Berikan Tun masa berehat dan sembuh betul-betul.

Who knows there'll still be time to fight for the good of this country.

Surely you and I ( and Tun too) cannot leave the defense of this country to YB Zam alone!

We talked about his Al-Jazeera appearance. Should I say more? Perhaps not.

Ayah saya ajar saya, bermaaf-maafanlah. Jangan sumpah menyumpah.

Only now the wisdoms of his actions became clear.

Mendoakan semoga TDM panjang umur dan continues to speak out what he strongly believes in.

Transcript of Malaysia's Information Minister's interview with Al Jazeera News on the Bersih Protest.

Minister: I commend yo-yo-your journalists trying to project... to exaggerate more than what actually happened. That-that-that-that's it. We are not the-the and I-I congratulate your journalists behaving like an actor, that-that's it...

Reporter: As you say that, sir, we're watching scenes of protesters being sprayed by chemical-filled water!

Minister: YA! I am watching! I'm here! You've been trying... trying to do it this - to do this everywhere but in Malaysia people are allowed to, you know? We know our police head our colleague... Police have whatever allowed the procession to go to the Istana Negara, you know? Do police, first police, like, they handle them, they attack them, they... the police don't, don't, don't fire anybody?

Reporter: Our correspondent came back to the office, sir, with chemicals in his eyes!

Minister:You-you-you-you are here with the idea, you are trying to project, what is your mind! You think that we Pakistan, we are Burma, we are Myanmar. Everything you-you are thinking! WE ARE DIFFERENT! We are totally different!

Reporter: Well unfortunately when you refuse to let people protest, it does appear so.

Minister: Ya ya we are not like you! You-you have earlier perception, you come here, you want to project us like undemocratic country. This a democratic country!

Reporter: So why can't people protest then, if it's a democratic country?

Minister: YES, PEOPLE PROTEST! People do-do... of course they protest. We are allowing them protest, and they have demonstrated. But we just trying to disperse them, and then later they-they-they don't wanna disperse, but later our police compromise. They have compromised and allowed them to proceed to Istana Negara! Police, our police have succeeded in handling them gently, right? Why do you report that? You take the opposition, someone from opposition party you ask him to speak. You don't take from the government, right?

Reporter: Why did you not break up these protests...

Minister: Pardon? Pardon? Pardon?

Reporter: Why did you not break up these protests more peacefully?

Minister: I can't hear you! I can't hear you!

Reporter: Why did you not break up these protests more peacefully?

Minister: No we-we are! We... this protest is illegal! We don't want..this... the... NORMALLY...

Reporter: OK, so let me return to my former question. Why is this protest illegal?

Minister: YA! It's a illegal protest because we have the erection in Malaysia. It's no-no point on having a protest! We are allowing to every erection... every five years never fail! We are not our like, like Myanmar, not like other country. And, and you are helping this. You Al-Jazeera also is helping this, this forces. The, you know, these forces who are not in passion, who don't believe in democracy!

Reporter: Alright, many thanks for joining us.

Minister: I don't, ya, you, Al-Jazeera, this is, is Al-Jazeera attitude. Right?

** This is so humiliating...

Sdr Twinkle, terima kasih atas kiriman transcript temuramah Menteri Penerangan dengan Al-Jazeera. I leave it to readers to judge. That was OUR SPOKESMAN speaking!

Seorang pembaca yang tidak mahu ulasannya disiarkan meminta saya menggesa Tun agar menasihati "Kak Pidah tu."

Saya mohom maaf.

Kalau budak-budak sekolah bolehlah kita nasihat. Ini Kak Pidah (saya fahami sebagai Rafidah Abdul Aziz).

Dia bukan budak-budak lagi.
Lagi pun kalau lebih dua dekad jadi menteri Dr Mahathir, tetapi masih perlu dinasihati, tak paytahlah.

Dulu dia penyokong kuat Tun. Dialah yang paling hebat menangis dan meraung. Sekarang Tuhan sahaja tahu isi hatinya.

Sdr Kristal, sudah lumrah manusia. Bila ibu bapa masih hidup buat acuh tak acuh.

Sdr Kedidi, orang Kedah kata, gulai tak cukup garam tawaq kebiaq, tak lalu makan.

Sdr Pijan71, Insyaallah Tun akan bersuara suatu hari nanti.

Kita tenguk keputusan Pulau Batu Putih. Singapura hantar tiga, empat menteri dan bekas menteri. Siapa ketuai delegasi kita? Siapa tahu tolong beritahu. Takut-takut half-past-six lagi.

Salam dan terima kasih buat semua.

The Sribe
Tun M is STILL THE ONE. He is still the BEST and probably the only that can turn the country around. Unfortunately, due to his age and health,he needs his private time and rest too.

There is NO WAY, anyone could come close to him, not even 25%. I have never voted in my life, never got interested in politics, never even thanked Tun M for all his efforts, until Tun M is no longer around. Slowly and surely, I feel his absence and his leadership, and I am so very sad. So sad that it took us a long time to be where we are and now, the whole country seems to be regressing.

Many things are high, crime is high and corruption is at its peak. I am slowly denied of my rights, one by one. Even Nuraini, puteri islam, suggested to use ISA to curb bloggers like us. I have no freedom to peaceful gathering, and what's left eventually will be my freedom of thoughts only.

How could progressed fro 50 years to be in this state? Our universities have fell out of the top 200, and fuel will be increased next year. There were 40,000 and some said 60,000 heroes, my heroes @ the Bersih rally last Saturday, and NST had this on their oneline headline "yawn, a waste of time". It took me some time for all these facts to sink in, that I am losing my beloved country to my current Government.

I salute you and so many other bloggers, you are true to yourself and not hiding behind anoynymity. I still couldnt understand why my Government is against clean election, giving all sort so lame excuses, saying its illegal, no permit, spraying tear gas and hurting people along the way. I am new to Politics but when I heard comment from Nazri calling us names, it really made me sadder. Of course, the grand finale had to come from Zam's interview, I rest my case.

If only we have someone half of Tun M, I guess we would be quite OK. Unfortunately, we dont even have anyone even 25% of him. I dread to think what will happen in the next 10 years. NO WAY we can achieve 2020, now we have to wait for 2057. Amidst corrupted Government, thank god there's internet, and more people are relying on this for the true stuff.
Thank you for the update on Tun M. I wish only the best for him.

Salam Datok..

Instead of having the operation done in the US, as medically suggested, with all foreign medical team and the lot, he chooses to do in Malaysia, in IJN, with all-local doctors and nurses but with the Mayo Clinic head of cardio. supervising the whole procedure.

The result: no less than 10 doctors, nurses and countless support staffs have now the experience and know-how to perform such a delicate and high-risk procedure. That itself is a landmark in the history of IJN since it was formed 15 years ago, by the "creator" of IJN and subjecting himself as the test case.

Now, that to me is a sacrifice worthy than any of the 3-and-more-to-come Corridors put together with all the excesses thrown in as well!

Now back to my original question, would Pak Lah acted the same??

Wallahuallam

Azad

A KADIR JASIN said...

Sdr Azad,

That's Tun.

During his conversation with Ahmad A Talib and I, he described his "high risk" operation.

He said he had no reservation whatsoever about placing his life in the hand of Malaysian doctors.

He had absolute trust in them and in the facilities at the IJN.

His only surprise was the post operation infection, which he said, should not have happened.

In fact, as the story goes, Tun was more confident than the doctors. His confidence in turn buttressed their confidence.

I would not dare say if the current Prime Minister would do the same.

If I am not mistaken he went to Australia for sinusitis treatment/surgery a year or so ago.

Thank you.

IBU said...

Salam Dato.

Thank you for the update.

Even in time of ill health, Tun upholds exemplary visionary leadership. Give a man a fish, he'll eat for a day. Teach him to fish, he'll eat for a lifetime. His willingness to be a subject of test case on homeland directly exposed the local professionals with real time 'on the job' experience on a highly complex procedure.

Malaysia boleh? Tun walks the talk.

Semoga Allah mencucuri kesihatan yg berpanjangan ke atas Tun, insyaAllah...

Sdr Azad,

Great observation...i missed that myself..it always Tun traits to import specialize knowledge to the country...at any cost...even to his own life..maybe some people are tired of all the praises that we gave Tun..but for me all the praises is not to 'worship' the person...but to remind ourself of great thing that we all should strive ourself..as a reminder and a target to achieve..

Milshah said...

Alhamdulillah! A lot of my friends respect Tun and admire his leadership and vison. Can't blame them, since the younger generation especially those from the 20-35 yrs age group have only known one prime minister and that is Tun. They have all been brought up during Tun's government which is more 20 years.Since then we have all been successful and have become young professionals in various fields. And for that, we are grateful to you Tun!

Thank you.

during raya i visited and went to a-big-name-businessman-house, i know he's a close fren to our PM, to my surprise, he put on Tun M pic at his living room!

pic Tun pakai baju melayu, pakai songkok, pakai kain pelikat, duduk bersila dan pic tu menunjukkan beliau tengah mengajar/beri semangat kepada anak-anak muda

hehee....now i understand, baik-baik dgn govt pun sebab carik rezeki, tapi deep in their heart, sapa tau :)

Calon heavyweight bukan senang nak tumbang...

Tun ini "heavyweight', seluruh media perdana Malaysia pulaukan aktiviti dia...tetapi dia masih dalam gelanggang. Pembesar UMNO cuba halau dia dari gelanggang, namun tiada siapa berani masuk main "Boxing" dengan Tun. Semua sorak dari luar.

Anwar, Musa Hitam, Ku Li semua pernah bagi pukulan heavy punch kat muka TUn, dia tumbang sekejap...tetapi bangun kembali belasah lawan sampai TKO!

Lari teruk Tun tumbang digelanggang...lagi kental dia bangun melawan...
