Tajuddin Isn't the Only Embarrassment

A Kadir Jasin

1.The swift sacking of Tajuddin Abdul Rahman as the Chairman of Prasarana Malaysia Berhad is the government's way of pacifying the people following Monday's first ever LRT train crash that injured more than 200 passengers.

2. The light rail transport (LRT) system for Kuala Lumpur and the Klang Valley has been in operation for 23 years, carrying some 800,000 passengers a day.

[Please be mindful of the law, ethics and courtesy when commenting. Anonymous comments will not be entertained. Please use real name or pseudonym.]

3. Tajuddin's insensitive, amateurish comments at Tuesday's press conference had added insult to injury for the victims and riled up the social media.

4. The Umno warlord was widely criticised for his uncouth comments and treatment of the journalists with many blaming the Prime Minister, Mahiaddin Md. Yasin @ Muhyiddin, for appointing him to the job.

5. Tajuddin’s firing was done by Finance Minister, Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz, via a one-paragraph letter dated May 26. Prasarana is under the purview of the Finance Ministry.

6. There was a chorus of condemnation against the Prime Minister when Tajuddin's appointment was announced on last May 13. Mahiaddin was accused of committing political corruption for using Government-linked companies to buy support of Members of Parliament.

7. Tajuddin might have made an absolute ass (as in donkey) of himself at the PC but the joke is actually on the person who appointed him.

8. Alas, Tajuddin isn't the only embarrassment in the Perikatan Nasional Government. Many among Mahiaddin's hundred odd appointees to the Cabinet, the GLCs and as deputy ministers are as bad or even worse than the Pasir Salak MP.

9. This is to be expected because the appointments were not based on merits but merely to have as many MPs as possible on the government's side.

10. It’s interesting to see Umno’s reaction to Tajuddin’s humiliation. This Perak politician is an important member of the party. He is a member of its Supreme Council and was only recently appointed its Election Director.

11. Incidentally, Umno President Ahmad Zahid Hamidi had said a few days earlier that it wasn’t fair to blame Umno for the poor performance of the PN Government notwithstanding that many key members of Mahiaddin’s XL Cabinet are from the party.

Thank you.

Salam Dato Kadir

Lamanya, dekat 6 bulan Dato’ tak tulis dalam blog ni. Sedih rasanya. Bukan apa, bolehlah kita bertukar tukar idea dan cadangan.

Pertama, habis Malaysia sekarang. Hutang dalam 5 bulan ni je dah 99 Billion. Najib kata 115B, tapi Tg Zafrul kata tak sampai pun, Cuma 99 Billion je……... Aduhai !!!! Standard menteri kita sekarang. Purata sebulan 20 Billion gomen buat hutang. Gila betul. Tahun 2020 je, hutang negara dah jadi 1.2 trillion. Tak tahulah kadar menganggur berapa, kadar bangkrap berapa, kadar bunuh diri berapa, kadar depression berapa, apa jadi dgn industry pelancongan, penjaja, peruncitan, PKS dan sebagainya. PKP 2.0 dan 3.0 pun gomen dah senyap je, tak bagi apa apa monitorium tapi suruh stay at home. Pening betul !!!! Budak budak sekolah dah ketinggalan setahun setengah dah. Online kelas sekejap ada sekejap tiada. Pelajar Universiti yg perlukan practical habis musnah. Modal insan yg kita bina utk anak bangsa habis hancur lebur.

Kedua, maaf cakaplah tapi gomen kita ni dipenuhi dgn org-org yang tak cekap. PM kata tak apalah nak kata kerajaan bodoh dlm interviewnya. Bila dah tahu macam tu, mintalah second opinion, bukalah parlimen utk dapatkan pandangan dari semua pihak. Dia kata keputusan MKN atas nasihat KKM. Bila saya tanya orang KKM, semua keputusan dari MKN. Pulak dah !!!! Pening betul bila semua pihak lepas tangan. Nak jadi pemimpin sangat, tapi takut nak buat keputusan.

Ketiga, tak dinafikan Tajuddin tak professional semasa jawab interview tu. Kepada Dato Seri Presiden UMNO, Dato’ Zahid, “It is time to execute the order of latest PAU”. Bak kata Lokman Adam, UMNO kena pisahkan diri cepat dari kerajaan PN yg dilihat tak cekap ni, takut terpalit sekali.

OK Dato’. Sampai sini dulu ye. Nanti kita discuss pula apa yg sebenrnya gomen dan KKM perlu buat utk redakan wabak ni dan ransangkan semula ekonomi negara. Dato start dulu, nanti saya sambung. Kalau tak, orang nampak blog Dato’ Cuma tahu komen je, tapi tak bagi pun idea, jadi kita buat dua dua, kritik dan bagi pendapat juga. OK. Itupun kalau Dato’ sudi aktif semula berblog la. Sekian TQ.

Salam Dato Kadir

Saya utarakanlah beberapa cadangan utk Malaysia sebab makin teruk nampaknya kes Covid di Malaysia ni.

Pertama, satu-satunya jalan penyelesaian adalah percepatkanlah pemberian vaksin kpd rakyat Malaysia. US, UK dah terkawal dah Covid mereka selepas majority rakyatnya diberi vaksin. Paris Disneyland pun dah mula beroperasi semula pertengahan June ni.

Kedua, banyaklah kemasukan vaksin-vaksin yg dah lulus Phase III trial seperti Vaksin Sputnik (Rusia), Moderna (US), Johnson Johnson (US), Novavax (US) selain Pfizer and Astra Zaneca. Slow sangat la NPRA Malaysia macam kura-kura. Siapalah yg dekat dalam tu, tak up to date langsung. Yg peliknya, Sinovac yg masih tak keluarkan Phase III trial utk public review dah lulus pulak dah.

Lagi ditambah garam, Vaksin Moderna nak masuk Malaysia melaui Zuellig (distributor) tapi KJ kata mahal pulak. Tak apalah kalau government tak mampu, tapi bagi lah kpd private sector utk uruskan dan tak perlulah gomen sponsor semua. Company banyak yg nak beli sendiri sebab kos utk buat swab setiap 3 minggu utk setiap staff lagi mahal la. International company pun dah beli vaksin utk pekerja mereka di Malaysia tapi tak tahu macam mana nak bawa masuk ke Malaysia. Kerajaan pun permudahkanlah benda-benda macam tu. Pening betullah. Itu yg saya kata gomen PN ni penuh dgn org org yg tak cekap.

Ketiga, beli mahal sikitlah vaksin-vaksin tu macam Israel buat. 90% rakyat Israel dah dapat vaksin sbb PMnya kata mereka beli mahal sikit tapi lebih jimat dari lockdown seluruh negara berbulan-bulan. Bijak PM Israel ni tapi bila covid tempat dia dah habis, diserangnya Palestin pulak. Kurang ajar betul. Yg elok kita contohi, yg tak elok kita jauhi.

Keempat, “Cukuplah Government nak monopoly pemberian Vaksin tu” kata Kit Siang. Semalam, persatuan doktor klinik swasta minta vaksin diserahkan kepada mereka je. Lebih cepat. Ada 7000 klinik swastsa di Malaysia. Selama ini pun mereka yg uruskan vaksin utk rakyat Malaysia, tiada masalah pun. Contohnya, kalau satu klinik cucuk 100 orang sehari, dalam masa sebulan setengah siap vaksin 32 juta rakyat Malaysia. Kalau ikut pemberian vaksin oleh PPV (Pusat pemberian vaksin) dgn kadar sekarang, lepas 4 tahun 8 bulan baru siap. Jadinya kita dah jimat 4.5 tahun dah.

Kelima. Ini kontrovesri sikit ye. Kita tahu vaksin-vaksin ini majority dr US. Israel tu pula anak angkat kesayangan US. Bila kita usik anak kesayangan mereka, marahlah mereka. Itu yg lambat dapat vaksin tu, KJ kata vaksin bulan June kena delay sikit. Negara tengah tenat ni, janganlah sebok pasal negara orang dulu. PM tak payahlah nak tunjuk hero kononnya nak bela Palestinlah. Biarlah NGO je yg buat. Israel buat tu memang salah tapi sebagai ketua negara, dia kena tahulah standard negara kita tahap mana. Itulah yg dinamakan priority.

Banyak lagi tu tapi dah panjang sangat pulak. Nanti kita sambung lagi ye. Sekian TQ.
